How to get to Nungarin

278kms from Perth and 285m above sea level

Nungarin is a leisurely drive through the picturesque hills from Perth. Take the Great Eastern Highway and follow the Golden Pipeline heritage trail of C.Y. O'Connor to Merredin and then head 40 km north to Nungarin.

Alternatively take the Pioneer Pathway through the Wheatbelt and enjoy the historic towns and spectacular wildflowers on the road to Nungarin.

Trains and bus links and timetables

Westrail runs the Prospector train to Merredin on most days and regular bus services to Merredin en route to Kalgoorlie are also daily.  Follow the link to the Wheatbelt Visitor Centre for train and bus timetables. There is a Westrail bus service direct from Perth to Nungarin that arrives at the Nungarin Post Office on Mondays and Fridays.

Touring around the region?

Nungarin or Merredin towns are an ideal base from which to explore the Central Wheatbelt. The Tourist Information Centre at the Nungarin Post Office can help with maps and pointers for the local attractions.

Further afield, the Wheatbelt Visitor Centre  is an excellent resource when planning where to go and what to do in the Wheatbelt.

Visiting Mangowine?

Mangowine Homestead is the site of the annual Mangowine Concert and is just 16 km north west of the town. It is well signposted from Nungarin.
